Bolt Practice helps people and businesses think better with AI.
Not by teaching tools. By developing the judgement to know where AI belongs in your work, and the practice to work with it well.
We leave that capability with you.
Most AI training teaches features: which buttons to press and which prompts to write. Which tools to use.
That is useful, but it is not enough.
The harder question is not how to use AI. It is when to use it, when not to, and how to keep your own thinking sharp while you do.
Bolt Practice exists because that question matters more than any tool.
We teach Bolt Method, a practical system for working with AI that puts human judgement first. Not because the technology is dangerous, but because your judgement is the thing that makes the work yours.
Steve Bolton founded Bolt Practice and wrote Think With Me, the book that introduces the thinking behind Bolt Method.
The Method did not start as a business idea. It started during the hardest year of Steve's life, when he was caring for both parents, navigating a divorce, restructuring an investment business, and still making decisions that affected other people's money and livelihoods.
AI helped him think when thinking had become difficult.
Not by giving him answers. By giving him something to think against: a place to put a problem down long enough to see it properly, to ask better questions, and to work out which decisions still needed him in the room.
He wrote down what was working and tested it against real problems. If something survived contact with that year, he kept it. If it merely sounded clever, he dropped it.
That work became Bolt Method.
He later shared the practice with his son Jude, who made the same shift and found the words that now sit on the cover of the book:
'I stopped asking AI to do things for me. I started asking it to think with me.'
One question sits at the centre of everything we teach:
Where does AI belong in the work in front of you?
The answer is not always 'more AI'. Sometimes the right answer is less, or none at all.
Bolt Method gives you a way to decide. It has four parts: Values, Judgement, Thinking and Habits. Together, they build a practice you can use every working day.
Values. Protect what must remain true while the work is being done.
Judgement. Decide what to trust, question, verify, reject or act upon.
Thinking. Ask better questions, develop stronger options and examine consequences.
Habits. Carry the Method into repeated daily practice.
The Ways map the role AI plays in any piece of work: Human, Tools, Agents, Partnership, Network. A Way belongs to the work, not the person, and higher is not better: the right Way is.
The difference between knowing the tools and knowing where they belong is the difference between training and practice.
Tool training teaches features. Thinking practice changes behaviour.
Six commitments govern how Bolt Practice works as a business:
These are not slogans, they are how we decide what to build, what to say, and what to leave out.
Bolt Practice offers three individual programmes and an organisational workshop:
Introduces the practice.
Read more →Develops it.
Read more →Embeds it and goes deeper.
Read more →Business Workshop brings the practice into an organisation, as a separate engagement.
We also offer the AI Practice Check-Up, a short assessment that shows you where AI already belongs in your work and where it does not.
Every programme is built around your own work, not hypothetical exercises. The practice is useful because you use it on something real.
If you are ready to find out where AI belongs in your work, start with a conversation.
